As a child, Nancy began what would become a life-long love for the sport of swimming. She swam for her local summer swim team, USS Club teams, and her high school swim team. As an adult, she has continued with the sport in many fashions. Before having children, she coached summer swimming and taught swim lessons at the local pool.
As a mother of six children she was a stay-at-home mom until her last child entered school. She ran an in-home daycare service at that time taking care of many neighborhood children. When her oldest showed interest in swimming she became involved again. Nancy started coaching summer swimming in 1997 and then moved into USS coaching in 2001. She has taught traditional lessons each summer while coaching.
In 2008, Nancy was introduced to a family that had lost their son to a back yard pool drowning, which is when I found out about the Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) program. Shortly after that she participated and succeeded in the intensive 6-week certification training and has been teaching that year round in the DC area since then.
Nancy is currently not instructing any classes.
